Celebrating the Holidays with Eastridge Center
On Saturday, December 15th, Eastridge brings in Holiday Cheer with all day events! Chi joined in on the fun as we film special performances by School of Rock, Kidzgroove, the Coat Drive hosted by Sylvia Arenas and over 200 saxophone players.
During the event our merry elves, Elf Carlos and Elf Jasmine spread Christmas joy as we sprinkled guests with candy canes and gift cards from Daniel's Jewelry and H&M Gift Cards!
This year marks the 25th Annual Saxophone Christmas! Could you imagine the sound that 227 saxophones make? Holiday tunes reverberated through center court as we wait for Santa's return.
The next performance was by Kidzgroove! Kidzgroove is a local youth dance group that holds classes at Eastridge Center (See schedule here) Eastridge's marketing team, Rah Riley and Amy Naverette awarded Kidzgroove with a $5000 check! Congrats to Kidzgroove as the 2019 Eastridge Arts Legacy Recipient! Founder of Kidzgroove, Princess Ryan talks about what the dance group is about.
"All of us at Kidzgroove are very honored to be recognized by Eastridge Center. They saw our intention was to really attract as much kids as we can to share our energy and create a positive community for kids who want to express themselves through dancing. Kidzgroove is all about facing your fear of not being perfect or being judged by dancing your heart out in front of an audience.
With the donation we got, we’ll be able to reach more kids to join our movement and have them influence other kids to become fearless like them."
School of Rock San Jose students spent a few months putting together a fun set of songs for their holiday performance at Eastridge Center. School of Rock teacher and local musician, Socorra, shared the excitement for their performance.
We thought the performance was great at Eastridge! The kids had a blast and we had so much fun sharing what we do at School of Rock with the Eastridge Mall community. We'll definitely be back!”
